Biography: Abravanel was a philosopher, statesman and leader of Spanish Jewry at the time of the Expulsion in 1492. He wrote a massive commentary on nearly the entire Tanach. He was Finance Minister to the kings of Portugal, Spain and Naples. He was the victim of court intrigues, for which he suffered in exile with his fellow Jews.
