Biography: The only son of Maimonides (Rambam), he succeeded his father as leader of the Egyptian Jewish community. He was a philosopher, moralist, rabbinic authority, Bible commentator and physician. His works are more mystical than his father's. He wrote a commentary on the Torah, but only the sections on Genesis and Exodus have survived.
