Name: Culi, Jacob
Born: 1689
Died: 1732
Major Work: Yalkut Me'am Lo'ez, a massive collection of legal and Midrashic materials which was first published in Constantinople in 1753, but Rabbi Culi died unexpectedly while half-way through the commentary to Exodus. The balance of the Torah commentary was finished later by Isaac Magriso, after discovering Culi's manuscripts fifteen years later, and Isaac Arguiti, who commented on Deuteronomy.
